New Year

Been a while since I last posted. First of all I will start by saying Happy New Year, and also a late Merry Christmas.
Over this christmas period I have been back at home with my parents, as you do, and with the lack of anything to do apart from going out and getting very drunk, I have been creating tracks like an absolute machine.
I have created around 5 original tracks and also around 7 remixes from strange unsuspecting bands/artists. All of these tracks are different genres, I have done this because I just wanted to see what I am capable of doing, and seeing what method of creating tracks suits me and my style.
I have uploaded them to soundcloud where you can download, play, send a link to your grandparents on facebook, whatever your heart desires. (Ill sort links out at the end of this post!)
Over the christmas period, well just before it actually I played in a DJ competition to become the new resident DJ for Nocturnal in Sheffield, I managed to get into the final but unsurprisingly I didn't win. The deserved winner was Gareth Davies, best of luck to you and I hope you have a sick year.
erm anything else....Oh yeah, Me and my friend have come to the conclusion that Bin Laden is the starter of the coming Apocalypse, more on that another time.

Screendeath.

Foamo.
Kye Gibbon aka Foamo is a 22 year old DJ/producer from High Wycombe, UK. He bangs out tasty wobbly basslines and fidgety beats, and has rightly recieved alot of attention from the likes of MSTRKRFT, Drop The Lime, Crookers + MORE!!!!

History of dance with a man called adam.

So, me and my dad were talking a few months back, and he said he wanted to help me out with this blog, because he thinks as himself as "Mr Music." Basically the idea was for him to give some quality artists/songs/albums from "back in the day."
So, yes, its taken him around 2 months to actually give me a first post and here it is.

Greg Wilson is a hero of mine. As 12 year old, I used to sit (tape deck at the ready ) and wait for Greg's legendary monster mixes on Mike Shaft's "Taking Care of Business" on Piccadilly Radio Manchester. .. It was the highlight of year, if you were into soul, electro funk & hip hop.. You were the coolest kid around if you had greg's mixes blaring out your ghetto blaster, while walking around the estate wearing your Le Shark (Poor Man's Lacoste) Polo T-Shirts, Farah Trousers and Winfield Four Stripe Trainers. ( Yep thats right, Woolworths Own!) Well my Mum couldn't afford Adidas Originals back then... Poor thing.
Anyway here, in my eyes (ears), are some Greg's finest tracks.

Then:
Walking On Confusion (Greg Wilson mash-up)

Rockers Revenge " Walking on Sunshine" vocals with New Orders "Confusion" beats. Both tracks produced by Arthur Baker but Greg mixed this up while being the DJ at the Hacienda, well before Madchester and certainly before Soulwax started the "Mash Up Trend". . Ahead of his time, I say.

Now:
The XX - Night Time (Greg Wilson Remix)

Nothing wrong with the album version, but Greg has turned it into a Nu Balearic bubbler. Which is now in vogue/fashion/all the rave, as they say. Listen and float away to the new subtle beats to the original dreamy atmosphere.

Also you can listen the to famous mixes my dad use listen to back in 82/83 on Greg's web site.
